Case Closed

We had a pretty funny moment this evening. Justin found that he could crawl in and out of this drawer in our family room. Then, he got stuck in the back of the drawer. Mason decided this was a good opportunity to practice his opening/closing skills (don't worry, he is very good at this). I was laughing so hard I couldn't even save poor Justin. Fortunately, Tommy came to Justin's rescue right before Mason completely closed the drawer.
We feel so blessed this holiday season. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Elves

Check out our elves:

Bad to the Bone

Tonight we went out & when we got home we found that cousin Steve took the boys for a trip to Miami Ink. So, for all of you who have been complaining you can't tell the boys apart, Mason has a spider and Justin has a scorpion tat. Pretty tough.

Sick Again ?!?

We have had a very rough winter. I have lost count, but I think this is round #5 of the sickness at our house. We are pretty tired of feeling lousy...we keep praying for an early spring. Mason is really looking rough (he is in grey) but I assure you he has not eaten any shell fish lately. We are going to ask Santa for a germ free New Year at the Batty house.

Our trip to the aquarium

This Saturday we went to the aquarium with Justin & Tiffany. It was a lot of fun. The boys loved to watch the fish and especially liked to touch the water in the

hands on display. We got an annual pass so we will got visit a few more times this year.

Hair Cuts

Well, we decided it had become to obvious to strangers when we hadn't bathed our kids in a few days, so we gave them a buzz cut. I think it turned out pretty cute, but maybe it is just a look that only a mother could love. The side-by-side picture in jackets is the before. The clapping PJ picture is the after. (Oh yeah, the boys learned how to clap...it is pretty cute.)

Arizona Trip

Well, we had a great time in Arizona. Mason & Justin spent a lot of time getting to know their cousins. They were the center of attention every where they went. Here are a few pics.

We got wheels

Today we had some sunny, but cold, weather. Mason & Justin decided to take advantage of the dry spell and they took their walkers for a spin around the driveway. The boys love to be able to move around and chase Mommy & Daddy. Justin is in yellow and Mason is in blue.

Look who's climbing!

Well, our little men have figured out how to navigate the stairs. This is mostly thanks to our friend Russell, who climbs like a mountain goat. Today was the first day Justin climbed all the way to the top and he did it in high fashion, his birthday suit. Mobile babies add a whole new element to the game...I am not sure we are ready for it. At least they aren't walking yet (I hope they crawl til they are 5). The boys are still not feeling great, we hope the next week is better than the last. In case it wasn't clear, Mason is the one in clothes.

Recovery time

Well, we hope the worst is over. This weekend was pretty miserable with a house full of sick people. Everyone had a full service round of the stomach bug. Today Mason & Justin were on the mend...starting to eat and getting into mischief. One of the boys favorite activities is to pull all the shoes off the shelf...and eat them. Hopefully they will learn the concept of "tastes good" soon and will give up on shoes. Not only is it a mess to find shoes everywhere...who knows what mess those shoes have been in. Sorry we have nothing better to post about this week, we hope next week fairs better.

Playing is a lot of work!

We are now very busy playing most of the day (unless we are eating). The boys love to climb and crawl and explore. I am pretty frightened of the day they learn how to walk. Mason has learned to climb the stairs and made it all the way to the top this week. Justin can't climb yet and he sat at the bottom crying. He wants to climb too!

We like leaves!

We went to the park this evening to get some fall pictures. Mason & Justin really like leaves...in their mouths. It was fun to see them trying to figure it out. The sunset was so nice...almost like Arizona (except for the water part). We had a great evening!

Swinging

Justin & Mason tried swings for the first time! It was fun, because they really enjoyed it. So far, they have no fear! It is great, except when they head dive from your arms or go to any stranger they see. We also wanted to show you the giant mushrooms growing in our yard. Don't worry, we didn't let the boys eat them.

Look what 1 year olds can do!

Look who's one!!!!!!

We can't believe it, but Mason & Justin are 1 year old today! I am in awe as I look back on the past year...we have been so blessed. We have the cutest, sweetest, funniest little miracles. Yesterday the boys had a birthday party, which they really enjoyed. They both love cake (just like their dad)! They are enjoying their new toys today, but yesterday they just wanted the wrapping. For those who must know, Justin in the turquoise shirt and Mason is in the brown shirt. Year two, here we come!

See our new trick!!!

We have a new trick this week. Ok, Mason has the new trick, but Justin is sure to follow. Mason has learned to pull himself up to standing! He can't get down yet, but he doesn't want to get down anyways.

Mason pulled himself in these pictures & Justin (left) got a boost up. Our friend Russell is in the picture too.

Going Batty!!!

With a last name like Batty, who says you have to wait for Halloween. Here are our little monsters. This year they are Bats...weighing in at 39 lbs combined. Last year they were Frankensteins...weighing in at 4 lbs. combined (sorry the date is wrong on the pic, it should be 10/24/07). As you can see, the transformation is pretty amazing! For those of you who have to know the names, Mason is on the left and Justin is on the right in both pictures (we got lucky).

Our House

Everyone keeps asking for pictures of our new house. Here is the outside. I will work on getting a few more shots. I also added a picture of the boys. Justin is giving us the don't mess with me look. Of course he can be brave, Mason's got his back!

Mason & Justin are growing

Mason & Justin have been growing like crazy. They eat a ton of food everyday. We are always amazed at how much they can consume. We are also dazed with the Costco bill every month (2x food, diapers, wipes & formula). Mason now weighs 20 lbs and Justin weighs 19 lbs. They are both crawling, although Mason is putting on a lot more mileage. Justin has 2 teeth, making this his first feat before Mason. Both boys love to scream and yell at each other (and at us whenever we have food in our hands they might want to eat).

The boy's first birthday is just 3 weeks away! We have survived an amazing year. I can't believe the miracles that we have received. Mason & Justin are the most difficult and amazing little people I have ever met.
